Most importantly, do not hesitate to jot down any questions or concerns you may have—we are here to help.
During your first visit, the dentist will assess your overall dental health by performing a thorough oral examination, which may include X-rays. The dentist will also discuss with you on your dental history, any current concerns, and treatment goals. The appointment may include a professional cleaning, depending on your needs.
Following your first appointment, the dentist will suggest a customised dental care plan based on your current oral health (e.g., follow-up appointments, routine cleanings, or transferring to a specialist for further treatment). The dentist will also advise you on how to maintain your dental health at home.
Practice good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily, and cutting down on sugary junk food. Drink water throughout the day. Your dentist may also recommend certain products or techniques, based on your dental condition, to protect your teeth.
Most patients are encouraged to return every six months for a routine check-up and cleaning. However, if you require treatment or have a specific condition, your dentist may suggest more frequent appointments to ensure optimal care.
